Andrey Kuznetsov (also known as Akuaku) is russian artist and illustrator, was born in 1966 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia.

In 1987-92 he studied fine arts in Moscow State Pedagogical Institute, in 1989-90 he attended at animation classes by animation studio "Pilot". And then, in 1992-93 he graduated from Advanced courses of scriptwriters and stage directors.

Since 1990 he works at "Pilot" studio as animator, since 1992 — as art director, and since 2004 — as stage director.

As an artist, Andrey works in variety of styles and techniques, many of his well-known paintings made in stylization of "lubok" (russian popular prints) pictures. Because of "luboks" are almost always have textual description of painted scene, it could be hard to understand for non-russian speakers. The latter aggravated by the using of old-Russian phonetics and spelling in humorous manner.

Andrey was art and stage director of few cartoons, based on fairy tales of nations, living in Russia.
